Faruk Medical City Inaugurated
Under the auspices of His Excellency the Iraqi President Jalal Talabani,
Faruk Medical City (FMC) was inaugurated by Iraq’s first lady Hero
The FMC opening ceremony was held on April 14th 2014
which was attended by a number of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG)
ministers and officials and many foreign invitees. The FMC inaugural
ceremony started with a speech given by Dr. Frya Piryadi, the head of
FMC’s scientific and medical section, where he gave an overview of the
FMC, its specializations and the unique services it provides for the
first time in Kurdistan and Iraq. Then he shed light on the impact that
FMC makes in helping the health sector advance in the region being the
first private hospital providing health services according to
international standards and using the most up-to-date technologies.
Ahmed, KRG’s minister of housing and reconstruction, made a speech on
behalf of KRG premier Nechirvan Barzani where he extended the prime
ministers’ thanks to the project owner and reiterated KRG’s on-going
support to all investment service projects in all fields in Kurdistan
hoping that all Kurdistan’s businessmen will always use their capitals
in unique service projects to help Kurdistan develop as they make
significant contribution to the rebuilding of Kurdistan.
minister of health Rekawt Hama-Rashid gave a speech where he discussed
the developments in the health sector and highly valued government and
private sector’s endeavors to provide best health services to Kurdistan
citizens. He hoped that FMC will be of a big health service assistance
in Kurdistan and the region.
FMC is managed by Acibadem Healthcare
Group from Turkey. Muhamat Ali Idenler, the Head of Acibadem Healthcare
Group delivered a speech where he declared that Acibadem Healthcare
Group, with a vast experience in healthcare services, is now providing
its services all people in Kurdistan and will continue to do so through
Faruk Medical City. From now on, he added, Kurdistan citizens do not
have to travel abroad for treatment; they can receive all types of
treatments here in FMC according to international standards.
Mustafa Rasul, the owner of Faruk Holding, delivered a speech where he
declared that the aim behind building FMC was to promote better health
of citizens of the country and develop the health sector. He also said
that the profits FMC makes in the future will be used to develop the
health field with as well as buy the best medical supplies that will be
used by the FMC. Then he talked about the completion of the foundation
of Faruk Charity Organization destined for assisting and helping
low-income people who cannot afford [medical] treatment. This would be
part of the FMC which will assist poor and low-income people.
finally, thanked the Kurdistan Region Government for its continuous
cooperation and coordination for implementation of such project
extending his thanks to the relevant government institutions for the
support and cooperation they always provide for service projects to
advance the country forward.
In the last part of the ceremony, Madam
Talabani cut the ribbon of FMC and the attendants took a tour around all
the sections of the Center.
