Faruk Medical City (FMC) organized a training by Beste Aydin, Quality Department Supervisor, on Patient Safety Goals for FMC physicians on Monday, November 17, 2014.
The aim of the training was to learn how to monitor any event that might pose a potential threat to the safety of patients, their families, visitors as well as the employees of FMC, to correct the identified problems in order to avoid their recurrence, to analyze any incident.
Another focus of the training was how to set strategies to improve the related processes, to identify any need for education of the employees, and to adapt a safety perspective for the entire system. Patient safety culture should be a part of corporate culture.
Delivery of healthcare services has a complex structure. Many errors that may potentially affect the patients occur every day. The objective is to identify, document, analyze, and improve these errors. An incident reporting system that enables timely and accurate reporting of occurrences that may jeopardize the safety of patients, families, visitors, and staff is designed to improve the processes and adapts a non-blame approach.
