The department of Nephrology at Faruk Medical City (FMC) performs treatment of diseases and damage to the kidneys.
Here we have outpatient clinic where we see patients with kidney problems including renal failure, structural kidney problems, hereditary diseases, diabetic nephropathy, vasculitis, urinary tract infection and inflammation. We also admit patients whom require treatments with kidney problems. We also see patients with kidney problem in the emergency department and also do kidney biopsies when it requires.
Here we provide dialysis services. We also insert temporary and permanent dialysis catheter. Besides, we provide continuous hemofiltration service and plasmapheresis in our ICU department.
We see patients whom seeking renal transplant, we do all the preparation required pre-operatively and in conjunction with the surgical team. We provide the transplant service in Iraq according to the best practice and we have a dedicated team to take care of patients pre-operatively until their discharge from the hospital.
